Stan was named to the Order of the Coif upon graduating from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1973.  After serving as a District Judge, he returned to private practice, where he has an emphasis in wills, trusts, and banking law, as well as agricultural and elder law.  He currently represents the Unified School Districts of Buhler, Fairfield, and Pretty Prairie, as well as the Reno County Education Co-operative and ESSDACK.

He presently serves as the Chairman of the Trinity United Methodist Church Endowment Foundation, and has previously served on the endowment foundations of both Wesley Towers and TECH.
